The 1st International Conference on Lifespan Innovation (ICLI 2025)
Paper Submission Guidelines
1. General Paper Submission Requirements
- All manuscripts must be submitted exclusively via the ICLI 2025 online submission platform.
Submissions by email or any other method will not be accepted.
- Papers should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx) or LaTeX (.tex) format. PDF submissions are not
allowed for review purposes. Papers not conforming to the required template will be rejected without review.
- Papers must be submitted no later than March 1st, 2025. Late submissions will not be entertained.
- Papers must be submitted as a full paper. The length of the paper should be 6-8 pages, including references, tables, figures, and
appendices. Papers exceeding the maximum length will not be reviewed. Poster and short paper (abstract and/or introduction only) are not acceptable.
- All information of authors must be excluded from the early version of the paper submitted for double-blind review process.
2. Peer Review Process
Double-Blind Review:
- ICLI 2025 follows a double-blind peer review system.
- The reviewers will not know the identities of the authors.
- Authors should omit all identifying information from the initial submission, including names,
affiliations, acknowledgments, and references to prior work that would reveal their identity.
- Each paper will be evaluated by three peer reviewers for originality, methodology, scientific
rigor, relevance to the conference theme, and clarity of presentation.
- Reviewer identities will remain confidential, and authors will receive anonymous review feedback.
Ethics and Integrity:
- The ICLI 2025 Conference adheres strictly to the ethical guidelines of Atlantis Press and the
Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors should ensure that their work is original and
free from plagiarism, data fabrication, or any other form of unethical behavior.
3. Conference Participation
- To ensure the inclusion of the accepted paper in the conference proceedings, at least one
author must register and present the paper during the conference. Failure to do so will
result in the exclusion of the paper from the final published proceedings.
- All accepted papers must be presented at ICLI 2025 either orally or through an accepted video pesentation (under committees' consideration).
4. Ethical Guidelines for the Use of Generative AI Tools
Permitted Use of AI Tools:
- Authors may use Generative AI (GenAI) tools such as Grammarly or GPT for language and
grammar editing only. These tools may assist in improving the readability of the manuscript
but must not be used for generating original research content or manipulating data.
- The responsibility for ensuring the accuracy, originality, and authenticity of the manuscript
lies with the authors. GenAI tools can introduce errors, biases, or plagiarism risks, so authors
must carefully review the output to avoid ethical violations.
- Authors are required to explicitly disclose the use of any GenAI tools in their manuscript.
This should be done in the Methodology or Acknowledgment section, specifying the tool's name,
version, and specific role (e.g., grammar correction or spell-check).
- AI tools cannot be credited as authors under any circumstances. Authorship requires human
intellectual contribution and accountability, which AI cannot fulfill.
Prohibited AI Uses:
- Fabricate or manipulate research data.
- Generate images, charts, or graphics that misrepresent the data.
- Complete the manuscript or research process without human oversight.
5. Copyright and Licensing
- Authors will retain copyright of their papers. ICLI 2025 will publish the papers under the
Creative Commons (CC BY-NC 4.0) license, which allows others to share, adapt, and
redistribute the work for non-commercial purposes. Copyright Transfer Form Download
- Each accepted and published paper will be assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier), which
will provide a permanent, citable link to the article. DOIs are essential for ensuring that the work
can be referenced and accessed indefinitely (https://www.atlantis-press.com/using-dois).
6. Archiving and Indexing
- All papers published in ICLI 2025 will be archived in the National Library of the Netherlands’
“e-Depot”, which ensures the long-term preservation of the work. This guarantees
accessibility to the global research community even in cases of publisher failure (https://www.kb.nl/en).
- The conference proceedings will be submitted to prominent indexing services including:
- Clarivate's Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI), a part of the Web of Science.
- Ei Compendex and Scopus (subject to acceptance by these platforms). Indexing is crucial for
increasing the visibility and citation of the work.
7. Ethical Standards and Publication Policies
- ICLI 2025 adheres to the ethical frameworks of Atlantis Press, following the standards of Springer
Nature and COPE. All manuscripts will be checked for originality using plagiarism detection
software, and any instance of academic misconduct will be addressed per COPE guidelines
(https://publicationethics.org/).
- For research involving human or animal subjects, authors must provide ethical approval statements
and informed consent in compliance with the Springer Nature guidelines.
